Patient Information

You don’t need a referral to book an appointment. However, if you wish to claim through your insurance, a referral is necessary. You can request your GP or specialist to fax or email the referral. Please find the referral form attached.

Your initial hand therapy appointment is about creating a personalized treatment plan based on your health history, diagnosis, and goals.

Your first appointment will last about an hour. Please arrive 10 minutes early.

If applicable, bring your referral, Medicare card, and radiology reports. You can still book an appointment even without a referral.

We'll conduct an initial evaluation and discuss your treatment plans, scheduling further treatment sessions if necessary.

Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes, although some complex conditions might require longer appointments

Generally, hand therapy is not covered by Medicare. If you have a chronic medical condition, you may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan or E.P.C., which entitles you to a Medicare rebate for up to 5 treatments per year.

Your GP can determine your eligibility for this program and will write a team care plan if appropriate. Please make sure you request occupational therapy to be included in your plan from your GP. There is usually a gap fee, and you will receive a rebate from Medicare.

It depends on your health insurance and the level of coverage. Please contact your insurance to confirm if you have covered Occupational Therapy and custom-made splints.

No, the custom-made splints, off-the-shelf splints, and other consumables provided in the appointment are charged separately on top of your consultation

No, you can’t use Medicare-funded plans and private health both for the same appointment.

You can pay by debit card, credit card, or cash. We currently don’t offer Afterpay, Zippay, Openpay or any BNPL platforms.

If you have health insurance you can claim your consultation fees through HICAPS, you will get an invoice for all the consumables and you can contact your insurance provider to get a refund if you have eligibility.
